What you get for each chapter
- One page of short notes
- 30 flashcards
- 30 quiz questions
- 80 practice questions in 3 levels
- Quick 10 and a daily goal
How it helps you study in a structured way
Many students just reread and hope. Here, every chapter follows the same five steps, so you always know what to do next.
- Step 1
Read
One page of short notes. Key words are in colour.
10 min - Step 2
Recall
Flip the flashcards. Say the answer before you flip.
10 min - Step 3
Test
Quick 10 shows what you really know.
5 min - Step 4
Fix
Read the reason for each wrong answer. Redo them.
10 min - Step 5
Stretch
Practice questions from easy to hard.
15 min
Testing yourself and spreading practice over several days are among the best-supported study methods in learning research.
A sample week for one chapter
| Day | Do this | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Mon | Read the notes once, slowly | 10 min |
| Tue | Flashcards, then Quick 10 | 15 min |
| Thu | Redo what you got wrong | 10 min |
| Sat | Practice questions: easy, then medium | 20 min |
| Sun | Quick 10 again, then try hard questions | 15 min |
A suggestion, not a rule. The daily goal keeps a small amount going each day.
Parents: this also shows you at a glance what your child should be doing.
1. Read: short notes, key words in colour
Two kinds of evidence
Qualitative: described in words.
Example: the solution turned blue.
Quantitative: a number with a unit.
Example: temperature rose by 12 °C.
Quali = words, Quanti = numbers! What this trains: knowing what matters
One page per chapter. The words examiners look for are highlighted.
Tohma's tips in the margin help you remember.
Colour guide: lime for key words, violet for numbers and formulas, cyan for watch-outs.
2. Recall: flip the flashcards
What this trains: pulling the answer from your own memory, which is what makes it stick
6 of the 30 flashcards in Chapter 1.
3. Test and 4. Fix: Quick 10
What this trains: finding your weak spots, then learning from each mistake
3 of the 30 quiz questions in Chapter 1. Every answer has a short reason why.
5. Stretch: practice from easy to hard
What this trains: exam-style thinking, one level at a time
80 per chapter. Four types: multiple choice, calculations, structured and fill in the blanks.
MEDIUMWith nothing on it, a balance reads -0.4 g, which is below zero. A rock reads 12.1 g. Find the true mass of the rock.
- The balance reads 0.4 g too low, so the zero error is -0.4 g.
- True mass = reading minus zero error, so we add 0.4 g.
- 12.1 - (-0.4) = 12.1 + 0.4 = 12.5 g
Short breaks with mini games
